Get to know my Blog
Hi there, I’m Ashley. Welcome to my blog. Blogging is something I’ve been doing in my dreams for well over 10 years as I’ve ventured down many avenues such as; DIY, Home Decor, Crafts, Cooking, Cleaning and Organization. Lucky for you I’ve been taking pictures all the while and can’t wait to share them.
We built what we thought was our dream home 15 years ago. Turns out dreams change, dreams grow, and dreams can be down right torn to pieces and rebuilt to become even better than you could have dreamed in the first place. Thank Heaven for that.

I love a good house project. John often refers to our home as “the house that’s constantly under construction.” With 6 kids and a husband, I need to have all my ducks in a row and manage my time wisely so I’m able to find time to complete the projects I start.

That’s where the Cooking, Cleaning, and Organization comes in. I’ve learned and continue to learn how and where to spend my time and resources to create and save time for other things I enjoy–like a good project. (If you know me at all, you know this is a work in progress. I recently told a friend, “My cupboards are organized, but my brain is a mess!”)
I hope you’ll stick around or check in often. It’s sure to be fun. I can’t promise that everything will be for everyone, but I can promise there’ll be SOMETHING for everyone!
Get to Know Me
I’ve lived in Utah all my life. I’m the youngest of five children.

I was a dancer/gymnast from the time I could roll over. This is funny because I now have two girls, and they are both into sports. I wish I could help them a little more with “their game.” But they just roll their eyes when I suggest they point their toes as they go in for a lay-up.

I met and fell madly and deeply in love with my husband in 8th grade. (It’s true) We dated off and on (mostly on but we’re trying to downplay that little detail to our teenagers) through high school.

After graduating from High School, I attended Cosmetology School. I have always loved doing hair. If not mine, then somebody else’s.
After John returned from serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Washington D.C. we were married!

We celebrated our 1 year anniversary with a brand new baby girl.

I loved being a mom! After watching “Cheaper by the Dozen” I decided I wanted 12 kids, and I was serious!

When my kids were little we loved having play dates and parties. We had Halloween parties, Valentines Day Parties, Back to school parties, and Dad’s gone hunting parties. I prepped and planned and crafted and baked and all the things. I loved it!

I also loved decorating and transforming our house into our home. I spent many nights up painting all night, literally all night long. Then my littles and I would spend the morning watching cartoons in bed while I rested.
As the kids got older and multiplied, my time was naturally divided. I also came to the realization that I wasn’t cut out for a dozen kids and settled for a half dozen.

My love for a good, fun party and the love of carrying on with the fun traditions we started has never diminished. However, the time that I am able to dedicate to planning, preparing and carrying out these activities has declined.
I’ve learned a lot about prioritizing, organizing and how to make a big impact without the sleepless nights. Because…let’s face it, there’s not any laying in bed watching cartoons with this crew.
